Home again Home again Jiggety Jog and Rest 234...

To pick up off my last post:
Mom is home. She has her very own outdoor shower/potty and easy ramps to get around. Her days have been a bit overwhelming. She is having to adjusted the way she sits, and gets up from different locations. It is harder to move here at home then it was at the hospital. Yesterday while she showered, all the grandkids played outside on the new ramps. Grandfather was the starter of course. It would have drove me nuts but it was a blessing for her to be able to bath and hear all the fun. The house is constantly moving right now. My nephews are there with my sister. The are very active 4 and 3 yr olds. They do love being at the ranch. Meanwhile my sister is quite tired all the time with the kids(including a newborn nursing) and attending to my mom's needs. I so wish that I could help out more but life is was it is. I go over on the evenings and tend to the littlest one and help out in small ways. I have been able to assist with getting paperwork processed for my parents regarding the accident. It is just so very hard when I work and have little one's that are to two different places (towns). My youngest is with me part of the week but my eldest is always with her daddy since she is in school and my spouse teachs. I am sure that she misses her grammy. I know this is hard on her.
Meanwhile......
My inlaws are slowly slowly still moving stuff out of the house. Right now the attention is on the bedroom for them. A few things have been taken here and there but no near as much as I was hoping. I know that patience is very very important regarding this matter. I want to bring in a huge dump truck and just start filling it up but I have to wait it out until they get all their share of the house goods. We have so many plans for each part that at times it gets overwhelming. On the other end of the spectrum, my spouse is in full sports mood with school. He is out usually the last part of the week and sometimes on the saturday. It keeps him hopping and very tired. I myself am a bear to deal with when I don't get my full nights and I can't imagine how he has got to be handling it.
With my adapted weekly schedule I get to see them more often at home. It has really helped me emotionally. Physically, well, I have not worked out in two weeks and I am about to go nuts. I usually workout everyday of the week at home but in the last two weeks, sleep or family has been more important to tend too. I do miss it and my body is craving it...
I still have not heard anything about a transfer to get closer to my family but I know not the plans for my life that are in store so I will take it "one day at a time, sweet Jesus, that's all that I'm askin from you".
There are so so many God moments from this entire last two weeks that I could not tell them all with out emotional interference so... just know that any prayers being lifted for my family has made an amazing and fulfilling effect. We know that if it was not for your prayers and angels, the whole thing would have been a lot harder and who knows what the outcome could have been. Please continue this act of worship to the Lord for trying times are not over and many more to come... with your prayers and kindness the world tends to be a better and brighter place. The future is bright but is a steep climb.

Until next time...

Coming down the home stetch....

She will be coming home very soon. Her therapy is going really well and there is no sign of infection, just healing. She has been a bit of pain this week but we think it might be from her bones growing. With little ones at home, the same pain is found when they have growth spurts therefore we think that this might be the cause of her pain as well. She is ready to go home and get on with life. Since she can not put weight on her leg, she is learning how to perform daily tasks with the assistance of a walker and a wheelchair. Of course, she still has staples and has been to very careful with them—they are very sensitive. Yesterday was a blue day for her but she had plenty of love around her with all her grands (-children) in the room. It was utter chaos to keep the arguments to a low roar but I think it felt like home to her. We should have a better idea of when and how this week regarding her release and requirements for her injury/therapy. She is moving very well. She gets up and down out of the bed/chair as if she was using both legs. What an inspiration she is to all that she has touched through this event in her life! Thank you to so many for all your well wishes, gifts, and especially your prayers. It is actually those prayers that have kept this situation bearable and helped all see a silver lining to a brighter future. My sister is still in town to attend to my mom along with her babies, my father is working on get their home handicap friendly, and folks (including them) are burnin’ the road up between here and there. Please continue to pray for us all. Like all these types of events, the demands of life begin to call and can overwhelm strong souls.
Thanks for your time and as soon as we have any more updated, I will post...

TOOK A BREAK, WENT UNDER THE KNIFE, AND BACK OUT

Well, folks... It looks like we are making some headway. My mom's second surgery went better than expected and was an easy in and out of the dr. Yesterday, an eval team came in and moved her to the rehab center in the hospital. Not only is this meaning that she is progressing but this also means that she has a private room, all her grandchildren can see her all at the same time and everyone else too during the visiting hours. Just yesterday, she was holding her newest grandson in her arms for the first time since the accident. If that is not therapy, than what is.....
My parents can attest that the reason she is healing and moving along well is because of the prayers from the saints (THANK YOU). That would be everyone that has and continues to pray for her. We know that God sent his angels into the accident not to prevent it but to be there to protect. I believe that all of those involved come out ok not because of luck or fortune but because of our Lord and Saviors hand. The drs believe that she will need to be in therapy for two weeks (up to her followup) but of course she would rather go home instead. I spoke to a very special friend yesterday and she informed me that it would be far better for her to stay there to make sure she does actually as she should... it doesn't take much to mess the whole hip up and have to replace it. She seems very greatful for her drs and prayers but of course is ready to go. That is where we are today. She is holding her own and learning how difficult it is to get around and do normal day to day activities. Please pray for her continued healing, a positive CAN DO attitude, and understanding. I will let all know when she comes home or any other updates. Thanks again for all your prayers and thoughts…

PLEASE PRAY!!!!

Friday evening I got a very shaky phone call from my dad.

"Honey, we've been in an accident. Momma's hurt pretty bad but Im ok.. We are going to be airlifed to a hospital because they fear she is hemorrhaging in her right leg."

Shock, fear, knowledgement, confusion, worry... but most of all... praise for they were alive. A young lady driving an SUV unattentively turned across 70 mile an hour traffic to access a country road. The first truck steered for the barditch to avoid contact while my dad had no where to go. They impatched them on the passenger side front and my parents on the whole front of the truck. Due to airbags in the suv, both the driver and passenger walked away. My dad wrapped the steering wheel around the steering column but sustained no injury. My mom on the other hands could not move. She was not penned in the vehicle, her lower body would not move. My parents were in a 90s truck with no airbags. If it were not for the seatbelts, I could have lost them both.

Damage results after many tests: broken right hip and socket (top of femur). First surgery was on her hip and lasted for 6 hours. The surgeon was not pleased with the result but did his best. Second surgery(in as I type this) will be to repair the socket and upper femur.

Many family members and friends have come by to see my mom as well as a huge out pour of prayers and aides offered. How some people make it through something like this with out the Lord or all our family/friends, is beyond me. Her attitude even coming our from under the knife was very positive and remains to holds its ground. Saturda night was a hard one from pain to fever to fitful sleep. Sunday when I left them, she was in no pain. During the day she had moved herself into a chair (once approved by staff nurse) and had later walked around her bed with the assistance of the PT and a walker. That one specific event has changed the gloominess to the possible for my dad and many others. Drs say this will be a long process and that she may still require a total hip replacement (not encourage due to her young age of 40 something) and even more surgeries.

My sister (with the help of aunts) has been there and still there through it all. She is a stay at home mom which allows her to stay as long as needed with my mom but she has a 2 month old boy who is breastfeeding with her. Hospitals and children issues are not absent from this matter. I know that it has to be hard for her as well as my nephew. He has been absolutely an amazing child through this all. Praise the Lord for close family who has been watching our babies while we went and attended to my parents.

Please lift this whole family, friends, patient, and situation. Thank you for your time and hope you will see the Lord in this all. He reigned forever!!!

Oh Baby!!!

Everywhere I look it seems some lady is expecting or just given birth. I am thankful to God for those blessings of new beginnings and doubly gratefully that I have my two with no plans for more. When I see a little one, I just want to pick them up and soak up that amazin miracle. They just amaze me... How we start out so small and dependent. Then they growup to carry on the cycle of life, too. I gladly give them back but I like my turn too.

I have yet to meet my newest member of my family but my longings will be satisfied before to long I am sure. Introducing my new nephew!!!

WHAT A CUTEY!!!!
After a much shorter than her prior kids but still and always painfull labor, my sis brought her 7lb 7oz 20" long baby boy into the world Friday, 22nd of January. My sis' bday was the 25th and she told me that the greatest gift was having him in her arms and not her belly. My youngest son happen to have fallen right before my big day as well. The simularity in our children and life are quit interesting. My oldest is so much like my sister (when she was a little girl)at times I swear God is punishing me for being so mean and for mistreating her all those years. Her newest addition favors his Aunt and Grammy.. Dark hair and dark eyes... My youngest and her middle seem to have the quarkiest attitudes. Mine is some what more agreesive but they both definitely have a personality of their own. They can be very funny. Both of our Hubbys are coaches and teach science at the same grade levels but are worlds apart.

I am so greatful for the blessings in my life-TRULY! Although I am still seperated from my family, and "running for the border" often then not, I have much to be thankful about. I have been working out as well and managed to keep at it for some time now. God has helped me lose about 6lbs or so and I can't wait to lose more. I gotten to were I greatly enjoy the time and when it's with my SISTAS, it is double my pleasure. The little childrens choir has been going nicely. I and them are beginning to understand each other. They are learning a great deal and we are having a great time doing it.

Well now on to the future thoughts and dates. Many events and things loom on the horizon of this year but I am doing my best to live life to the fullest each week. While I have been away from my family, I have altered my daily schedule to reflect the needs and responsiblities of our situation. Granted my spouse still carries on with the most important of all, our CHILDREN, but I too have my own. Support from our family and friends has kept us going and the Lord keeps us strong. Thank you to all those that continue to pray for us!!! The strength of prayers goes a long ways... I have learned this month of many that are going thru hard times, from Cancer to early/undeveloped pregnancies!!! These situation continue to remind me that there is always someone worst off then me and all we can do it pray for them and thank God for our blessings and fortune. Continue to encourage each other in life and bring a smile even in the hardest of times. Laughter can bring joy and God proved the moment... Have you thanked Him today?!?!

Speeding to the new year

I hope alls Thanksgiving was good and memories were made. We spent ours out of our traditional role and went to friends instead of them coming here. We got a chance to meet a few of their friends, hangout with them at their abode, and just chill. It was a good change for sure. They have two large dogs and we have two small kids so they each wore each other out by the time we headed out. This past weekend, I took part of a christmas drama/musical at our church. It was absolutely wonderful... I wish all could have seen it. What a wonderful message it gave in this world of chaos. The actors/actresses were amazing and the music was bunches of fun to sing. So what are the plans for the rest of the year? Not to spend too much, eat right, and exercise. So how about you?! What are your plans and what has been happening...?
I am still where I have been since the 4th and have not gotten word as to when or where I will be able to get back under the same roof as of my family. Please keep us in your prayers... well, until laters...

Fight for Preemie

It all begin in a bond of love for each other, that a beautiful gift from God would enter their lives. The gift was just that, a little gift. The little one was coming early and the doctor could not be reached at the local hospital. From there, they traveled on to a bigger more advanced hospital. The baby was born and whisked away without a glimspe to the parents. The parents soon would learn that they were parents of a very small baby girl. She weighted in at 3lbs 5oz and was born with a defect that needed to be handled immediately. If she would have been any earlier or born at the local hospital she would not have made it. She was in the hospital for three months following the birth and intensive surgery. You see she was born with a defect called Gastroschisis. In 1979this was not a common defect and the advances in technology were not there. The Doctor of deliver assumed that she would always have gastro (stomach) issues and that she might not live that long with the complications this contained. For months, anytime she cried or laughed after drinking milk would squirt from the holes that were healing from all the feed tubes uses to keep the baby strong and healthy. To this day, she has carried and delivered two very healthy and normal children and has one of the strongest stomachs a person can have. It has never restricted her in sports or activities... and she loved to show off her belly that had no belly button.
She still does to a few special and close friends. She favorite song is the Belly Button song by the Veggie Tales. YouTube video of songI am Texose and this is my birthstory.

Somewhere out there is a preemie that may not survive. In the early 1900s many did not make it because they require such love, care, and advanced medical care. Please help us get the awareness out as they are fighting everyday... for life...

pick up in autumn and here comes winter

I can't help being late... What do you mean that I need to set up safeguards?
You can't help me or solve this overnight my friend? I am trying but it is not working...

The time in between my last post and this one has been both humbling, and attacking to my spirit and physical condition. I have been having the darn est time trying to go to sleep at a good hour for a full nights rest. Usually when I sleep it is straight thru with no dreams to recall unless I wake in the morning in one. After being called into my bosses office again and again and a threat of discipline paperwork, I finally concluded that I needed to get help. My nights were 4 to 5 hours long with numerous interruptions from nightmares and noises which never let me get to my full rest cycle. Every morning was a struggle to rise... with 3 alarms set in different places and times, I still could not get out of bed on time much less to work. I made a desperate call to my physician for some sleep assistance and an increase in my current mood meds. Well, it has been about a week... and what a difference a small pill the size of a benadryl can make for me. It takes about 30 minutes for it to kick in but when it does, out go the lights. No more nightmares, and noises are waking me through the night. I still wake from time to time to go to the Lou but much better. The only down fall at this point it that if you don't get a full 8 hours of sleep, you wake refreshed but still abit groggy. Timing is everything with this stuff.
My spouse's run of the 1/2 marathon went great. While I was trying to get the kids up and packed he ran and finished it. He called and asked were I was even... I felt so bad... He finished in the same position as last year too. His next marathon will be in a few weeks. I keeps telling me that he doesn't know if you is ready... I call him on it... every time... I know he is ready and will do a great job...
Our ladies retreat went great, and our fall festival was fun. the turnout was not the greatest but we still had guests. It was a windy one of a day but it did not stop the fun. My eldest dressed in a authentic cheerleader costume with real pom pons and bells in her hair and shoes. She was so cute... My youngest was bumblebee and still continues to wear the mask when he is in the vehicle. He is so funny. Looking at the bodysuit it looked too big, but he had no problem filling it. I myself was a blue ladybug princess. If I get the photos loaded I will post them soon.

Well, that is about it in my neck of the woods. I better go for now... short sweet and to the point... until the temperature here drops lower.... I'll compose again!!!

Autumn/Fall update

Hello to all... including myself...
Where to start on life?! Well, from where I left off I guess.
Let's start with my family.
My Hubby has been very very busy with Cross country almost every weekend since school started and has been running like a mad man. I truly believe that He has a life long dream of running a full marathon someday. He has been training with the schools cross county team. He is their coach and runs with them. It is so funny when he tells me all the stories of out running all of them and then he rubs in the fact that he is double their ages and beating them... Then just for extra measures, he calls me while he is running with them. Not only does that drive them crazy, it does me too. I am not in any shape to do that when I am exercising. I can't usually hold conversations when I am in the middle of it. He is crazy. He ran a 1/2 Marathon last year and finished 4th in his age group of about 40 runners. He is just so amazing and crazy. He is like skin and bones and hardly eats anything. Oh well, I am not like that and don't have that drive for that...so you go baby... ;)
My children are well. My youngest just turned 4 and he is getting so tall. Last time we weighed both of our children, he was 10 lbs heavier than our oldest and about an inch shorter. Mind you, our oldest is 7 and is very petite for her age. He is growing with leaps and bounds. His communicating is getting much better and he is amazing what knowledge he has (common sense.)His desire for machinery continue to be a focus and he wants to be his sis's best friend... They are amazing how they are growing into God's amazing children. My eldest is now in 2nd grade and has such a desire to read and do word searches right now. I asked her the other day if school was hard this year and she told me, "Nah... its fun." How encouraging that is to hear as a parent. She is still enthralled with horses and goes wild when ever there is one around be it real or a toy. She tends to be very sensitive to life in general. You can just look at her wrong or say something a bit harsh to get her attention, and the water works start. I was the same way all my life but I had no idea how it would affect others around me. Now I know. I am working on her to toughen up a bit but don't want her to lose that sensitivity to life. Its part of a pure heart that I would love to help nature it to maturity someday. She is amazing in knowledge and is like a sponge. She is very caring and tends to show kindness to others apart from her brother... which most siblings do to each other. She is even wanted to run with her daddy now which is great. I hope that she continues that desire.
Our parents (grandparents) are doing alright. My parents have been dealing with illness lately and hopefully are getting over the mess. They are always do and go these days. No wonder they are sick, they don't ever stop to take care of themselves. My mom is pursuing her Doctorate while my dad is working as hard as a 20yr old at a ripe age. They just continue to amaze me. However I get to see them at their ache moments, and it reminds me that we are human and suffer. My in laws are in the process of building a home, running the ranching business, visiting my sis and bro in laws about 4 hours away often, all while watching my youngest during the day. WOW... I am just surrounded by greatness. My sis is expecting her third and is in her 2 trimester. They are well and her little boys are so precious. They are so smart and unique with a bit of humor mixed in.
Now on to me.... Well, I am still working and living part of the time in our old place from my family. I am here until I get a transfer or another job closer to my family. It is so hard to be apart from them. I get to see them on Wednesday at church and then on the weekends but needless to say, that sometimes is harder to handle simply because I have to say bye... I recently got a new boss here and he seems to be a nice fit. Change can be a real struggle when the personality is so different but this boss is just right. I am having to learn to embrace changes daily. During the week, I teach a preschool choir at church throughout the school season which you can imagine is a major challenge that I could never do if it was not for Jesus. This week is especially busy. Since last Friday I have been creating posters for my nephews in glow in the dark for their bdAYS this year. I just finished them... they look awesome... ;-) I volunteered to do the music for our ladies retreat that is this Friday and Saturday so I have been getting our music prepared for the last two weeks. Saturday I will leave the retreat early to drive 5 hours with my family to cheer my spouse and co-worker on in a 1/2 marathon. It is the same one he did last year but this year thought he would try a relay. I would not miss it for the world. Next weekend at church, we are hosting a free fall festival and I will be doing the face painting for that and helping setup. Did I mention that my spouse will be on a school event that weekend? I so love my church family... they are always willing to help me out even to watch my youngest...

I may be apart from my family but as you have read I am always up to something. In the in between time of work and life, I go to the gym and workout when I can, attend monthly Bunco, and weekly bible study, which are both out of town when I can. Please keep us in your prayers. Even though I may get to be with my family soon (praying), I will continue most of these activities. Needless to say, prayer will provide what is needed. Energy, comfort, and peace of mind would be great... for some reason getting to bed at a decent hour has been unattainable lately...
