Winter is on its way!!!

Well... since last time... life has been passing without delay regardless if we are ready or not.

Both my babies are in school and are greatly enjoying it. My Hub is happier in the higher grade so it seems quit good. This month he ran in a 1/2 marathon in corpus christi, and did extremely good. I am very proud of him. As for as myself, I have got to get back to regulation my intake and health in general. I havenot been able to exercise in over two weeks due to all the fall festivies and man, I feel it.

This past month we have had lots going on. My hubby's run, a private ladies retreat, hunter education course, fall festivals, carnivals, and hunter's roundup. Our ladies retreat was private this year to allow the ladies in our church to bond. It was a wonderful one as always. I was in charge of our music, and it was a bunch of fun. It is always such a joy. Immediately, after that I head out to support my Hubby in his race. It went very well. Upon return I started taking the education course on two days of the week for two weeks in the evening. During this time as well I volunteered to create the signs for the event as well as do the face fainting for our fall festival. I never do things simple... well, I did about 40 kids in two hours and made full face paintings in about 10 minutes for each. Needless to say, I was so tired when I finished and even had little ones still wanting more even after we had to close up. It is amazing how much my back hurt after that night. We had a GREAT turn out and it was fun and warm... The following week, was the schools carnival and once again I found myself in it for the long haul. Please keep in mind, I was wearing a electric blue curly wig, red fiesta skirt, black corset, full orange and halloweeny skirt, true blue petticoat (squaredancing), shimming tights, striped gloves (to elbow), witchy heeled boots, and my face was decorated as well with blue lashes too.
I was referred to as a doll, witch, clown, new orleans confused, and thing 1 and 2 (Dr Sueuss). I love them all. The whole part was to bring laughs and enjoy myself. Trust me, this was accomplished....Once again I was reminded about my back and exhaustion. Would I do it again... TOTALLY but would like a bigger break in between next time to recover. ;) The roundup was very busy!!! I am part of a committee at work that does fundraisers for scholarships and this was one of our events to be apart of. We sold raffle tickets all night and have a good time collecting money and watching life revolve around it.

I am thankful that its November so I can get back into my schedule. It is way off. At least I know that I will be home on most the weekends to clean house and get our little ones back on schedule!!! We are planning on a very laided back holiday but who knows. I hope that your November will be a slow one that you will be able to enjoy the changes of the season and have time to reflect.

I teach a preschool choir at my church and loving it. It has it moments when I would like to just throw up my hands and scream.. (we are talking about 10 4yr olds). Most of the time, we are learning songs, and being crafty. It amazes me everytime how these little ones are so bright and are being used to bring praise to God. They can be devises but can also be very kind and understanding...

Take the time to inhale the scents of the season and exhale all the stress that comes with this time of the year. Enjoy the season and until next time....

SO LONG GONE.....

Once again I find myself in total awe of how FAST the year has flown by.
Wasn't Christmas just yesterday?! WOW

It has been quit a long time since I have been on here to update so this might be rather long winded...

We are now half way thru the summer months and I can't even quit recall what we did for the first half. Every weekend we had something going on for us. We attended two family reunions, and made some trips to the big city for various events. My eldest was in a play put on by a out of states drama team which was so cute. While my whole family is at home this summer, I am working. My Hubby is actually work as a stay at home dad with my youngest in the trying 2s while my eldest has been able to go to some educational programs at our local library with friends to fill her month of June.Of course I wish I had it off like them, but I don't envy teachers in the least for what they have to go thru with all those students and the new requirements every year added to their already taxing job.

The Steece Quadsare doing great and just growing so fast. I had the chance to love on them in May. What sweet bunches of God's love?! They were and are some of the best looking babies on the block if you ask me. You can check them out by clicking on the link above.

We had VBS this past month at our Church. I had the opportunity to be a wild and zanny Science Professor for a daily skit as well as keeping my little brainy-acks in line when I was not acting. Let me tell you, it has taken me about a week to recover. We had about 120 total kids ranging from 4yrs to 6th grade (this did not including the babies in the nursery). Forty Four of them were all mine and were of the young ages of 4 and 5year olds. Somehow I ended up being the only adult leader of my group. Thank GOD literally for the two youth that volunteered their sanity to help me out. My group was great but the energy it took to corral and participate in the music and crafts was very tiring. I can't hardly wait for next years VBS. I really enjoy getting to act like a kid and sharing my love for the Lord with all those children. We had slimmed glowing walls, atoms, test tubes filled with yuck goo, and so much more. I think the kids really enjoyed it this year too. As always, I loved the music. The last two years I have been able to help out and be apart of the full program. I have both CDs of the music which I sing and act out often with my eldest. What can I say, it is like being at church camp for me....!

If you have never volunteered for VBS, you are missing out.. Go do it and get ready to learn from those kids. They are so amazing.

This past weekend, our sunday school class decided to have a summer outing at our local lake. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!! Friday we had a great turn out from about 4pm to dark. We swam, talked, splashed, enjoyed a meal together, and even kayaked some. We didn't get to bed until about midnight or so. By the end of the night, my family was the only ones that camped out that night. Our babies were out before my spouse and I got to sleep. Saturday was a bit slower but fun none the less. We had a couple rent a boat and tube so we spend most of the day playing in the lake. I can tell you that the sun was out in full force both days and if you could see me...yah.. you got it... IM RED...YUCK.... OH WELL.... I would not have passed it up for nothing but next time, I will take more caution....

Our Choir had our red, white and blue presentation yesterday evening to kick off the week. It was a very small turnout this year but it still was very touching and enjoyable. To celebrate this day, our church will have be hosting a huge family shin-dig. If like last years, it will be so much fun that we'll be draggin by the end of the day. We will have relayes of all kinds for all ages, and LOTS of fun things to do all day. From Egg races to Water Balloon Volleyball to a Jalapeno eating contest it is sure to be a full day.

Well, that is a quick but full run down of life on the last few months. SO WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS MONTH AND FOR THE LAST OF YOUR SUMMER????!!! Feel free to share your memories with us as we have shared ours. Before you know it, school will be starting again and Christmas will be here again. I pray that you know our Lord and that you know that he loves you and longs for you be in heaven with him someday. Hang in there and don't let this world pull your wings down... Spread those wings and soar with our Savior.

Relay for Life Event

WELL.... It was a long night cut short and wet. The event was so much fun this year but was cut short due to rain. We had a kiddy Corral set up by fence posts and temporary orange vinyl roll for kids to come and play with the bubble station and toys then a painting raffle and memory balloons for sale as well. We hauled in tons of stuff to include sleeping bags and tents for the entire night. Thank goodness we had all setup and ready by the time the event started. By 11:00pm or so we had the little ones all down in the tent while we sold items and waiting our time to walk. About 2am as we gathered in a group for a flag walk, the feild's automatic sprinkler system started and soaked several tents on the far side of the area. The maintenance staff finally got it all shut off. It was quit wet before the event due to misting all day prior to the event starting. Now that area was a mud pit. I walked an hour after they got the system shut down. Thank goodness I got a chance to lay down to rest for the rest of the night, or so I thought. About 4am I awoke to an announcement that we were officially shutting down and most everyone but us had already packed up and were loaded to leave. While I rested among the sounds of music and laughter, it had begun to mist with waves of heavy downpours. It took us about an hour to get everything wrapped up and loaded in the vehicles to include all the sleeping babies in the tent. WE WERE THE LAST ONES TO LEAVE THE FIELD!!! Our team constisted of 12 females but only about 5 of us were still there at those hours of the night. We were all exhausted, wet, and a bit sad that we had to close up shop so fast. Several were operating on no sleep, mental fatigue from the babies, and colds and infections. Needless to say I am still trying to recover from it. I slept in on the following morning into the early afternoon but still have not caught up on all my sleep yet. I will tell you however that it was just as empowering and awaking as it has been the last couple of years. There was not a dry eye in the whole stadium when they did the survivor walk and some moving speaches during the luminaria event. It is just so amazing how many people have been effected by cancer and those that have NOT survived. We have been doing this for 3 years in our town and each year we have smashed our money gained records. I could not tell you at this point how much we raised as a city but I can tell you that we broke our records last year of aobut $16,000. So to those of you who supported me and my team and all the others too, thank you for we could not have done it with out you. Our team alone raised about $1,500 dollars and enjoyed doing it. Not to mention getting to share some women bonding time. It is definitely a women event but is not limited to just us. Several men were there and had been touched or had had cancer in their life time as well. We actually have some of our high school students form teams as well and participate with us. If you would like to know what it was about and want to know more, I would be glad to answer questions or for best results, join the fight with us all across the nation to be apart of your areas RELAY FOR LIFE!!!!

Lost in Life and cyberspace

SO.... It has been months since I have been on here to post. I haven't been able to jump on here to update in forever. There is not much going on. My eldest just turned one year older and the school year is almost done for the 07-08 year. We are all the same as before just a bit older and wiser. No additions on the way for us or my sister thank goodness at this time.

In February I got to go to the Women of Faith conference. It was amazing and definitely something I will go back to next year and take some more girlfriends with me. I was blessed to have my mom, her sisters (2 out of 3), and my sister there as well as my bestest girlfriends. BIG BIG Kudos to my honey for watching the rugrats.

A few weeks ago one of our local churchs had a girls night which I was apart of here. (We don't attend that church but I would like to get more involved in our community). It was so much fun to act like a kid again and know that the girls there had a great time. We will be having one again before you know it, and can't hardly wait.

We took our oldest this past week to see Saltimbanco (Cirque Solei), the zoo, and the Museum for her birthday. It was so much fun. It was amazing to watch this event in person. It is just as good in person as on TV. Watching the strength and talent of these performers what amazing in person. Not to mention, the music and atmosphere was very mood setting and just awesome to experience.

The current event now is gearing up for the Relay for life event here in our community. I have been apart of it ever since it started here about 2 years ago and now we have formed our our team this year and are doing well on raising funds. We will adon pink camo and be called Hunting for a cure. Our event will be coming up in a few weeks so we are working hard to get there.

Not far behind that is a big sports event for work that all the profits of this go towards scholarships in our community. There will be numerous tournaments and a good time to follow with a dinner and dance. Everyone seems to be ready for summer but not to ready to welcome the heat. We have had strange weather this year and I am hoping that this years weather will cooperate with our events. Last year it came a flood of rain and almost rained us out of most of our events. Granted I love rain, and always welcome it by walking in it and soaking it in like the hard ground here, but if it would just rain every where else but where the events will take place. Oh Well, it will probably be so hot this year we will be wishing for the rain instead. I ran the volleyball last year and other than one tense moment, it was a blast, and tons of fun. The best part with that there was little to no alochol there so it was mostly a clean and family friendsly evironment. I hope this year promises to be the same or even better. At least this year, I will have some additional help. Standing in the sun from 6am to 6pm produces a monster of a sunburn. Not to mention, having to find someone to watch my babies.

Well, who knows that the next couple of weeks will bring so until next time, may you be blessed richly and know that God loves you so much that we could never fathom the extent. ----Texose
