WhirlWind Summer....

Well... what a summer... didn't we just begin this time of year....?

Updates:
My mom went back to school this week. She still has a limp and we found out that she has a clipped nerve in her leg that is giving her some pain that is mobility limiting and limited movement still. She had an MRI done last week and will go back tomorrow to get the results and find out that they need to do from there. Her syatic nerve is being pinched too... what a bummer....My Dad is run fast and furious as usual and never seem to slow down at work. As a private contractor and one of the most hard working/persnickity men I know, he really runs down fast..... through in older eelments and he is a mess....My in laws are hanging in there. My dad in law has been having health issues that seem to never go away...however he never tells anyone anything until it is really bad...we have to watch him like a hawk. My mom in law is a guru in the worry and fret department but just keeps on keeping on... Leave it to parents to just amaze you in life...

My sis and Bro in law are well. Coaching family that is always hopping... Caleb is now about 8 months and such a cool cat.. My sis-n-law and bro-n-law will be officially married 1 yr in August 15th... Wow... it has been trying for them in many ways... but they are learning....

On to us--- My spouse is gearing up for the fall sports as a side coach. His passion is teaching but has gotten ropped into coaching each year. I now know why... he said that he wants to qualify for the Boston Marathon soon... He coaches the running sports and can run with the best of them... the old man can out run most of the younglings... it is fun to hear the stories... The kids are growing like weeds. My youngest has taken on growing and playing as his goal in life. He is about 3" shy of this sibling who is 3 yrs older and petite. Did i mention that he will be 5 this year?? Wow how they grow. My eldest is looking forward to school and learning to write in cursive. She is reading on a 5th grade level right now and is loving it. Needless to say, she is ready for the social affair of school, too. As for me----
I'M NO LONGER IN LIMBO LAND...
I start my new job come August 30th. It is still federal and the same benefits and all that I have now. This job however allows me to be with my family 7 days of the week, and spend less in gas, mileage, and time in the car. I still will have to commute (which is impossible not too where we reside for a good paying job) but it will be shorter and closer to home than the one I have right now. Did I mention it will be higher pay too...? I qualified because of my training from my military days...The Lord planted the seed and watered the idea the whole time... It is not because of my desire or wants or goals, but because of God. I will forever claim this job opporunity and change as a way to give and bring God glory.
I am excited but a little nervous which is normal for such a change. To go from sitting behind a desk in a/c to standing all day with little to no a/c will be quit an adjustment.... I will also be the only female in the team...which is nothing new for me... but might be for those I will be working with... :)I know that I can do it because I can do all things through Christ whom gives me strength....

BTW: Usually when this time of year comes around the temps are suppose to start decreasing right... not were I am... we have had a very mid summer but it is making up for it now.... I sure hope it gets cooler soon since I will be in it very soon... I know that I will shape up from the heat this way too... yeah!!!

So until next time, God Bless and claim it in the name of the Lord...

Holy Hip, Thing ,and Pirates Batman.....

Grand adventures and trails by inferno always seens to come about every couple of months for us..... WHAT ??!!!! Well, let me explain.....

Holy Hip:
Mom has once again had surgery... it seems to have been a great success for her. She is even able to put weight on her leg that the surgery was done on and only restricted to no water until the staples come out in about 5 weeks. Holy Hip.... it is still holding and healing everyday but she is so little pain that she can even hold her grand kids in her lap and tickle them..... no holler in pain from the wiggling even... thank you Jesus... Lord willing this will not be short lived... She of course is worried about her knee from the impact of the accident and wonders about other illments that might surface after this big one is on the road to recovery... please continue to keep her in your prayers.

Holy Thing:
Introducting the newest and oldest member of our little family, "CLIVE". Affectionally names by me in honor of one of my hubby's fav writers Clive Clusser who has a huge collection of classics. This weekend, my very nerves, edgy, and non-city friendly driver of a husband and me went to a big city and pulling a trailer. We had found us a 1974 VW Thing...
After many hairy turn arounds, heated words, and upset bellys, we made it home in one peace. Note to self: Volunteer to drive next time or just don't go with..... argh....

Holy Pirates:
This years VBS theme is High Seas Expeditions.
I am doing the music for the program as well dedicated myself to create an elaborate but do able sancutary decoration theme. I am working on the layout now for it. My goal is to turn the entire stage area into a ship deck that seems to be inviting you into it the helm... the captions deck... Im not talking a cruise liner here but a old fashion ship that you usually see Pirates or sailors on. If we can get it to work out, I think it will be very cool. Did I mention that I have bout two weeks to get it figured out and up in about 2 days before it starts?! Frustation and exhaustion comes to mind but hopefully it will not be that bad..... Wish me luck and lose of leway for changes....

We are all doing well. The family is out of school for the summer but it is short lived for the coach/teacher. In about a week or so, he will be back up at the school running the gym for hours during the break... then comes getting ready for cross country again. Oh well... did I mention that in between there will be 4th Concert put on my our church choir, and reunions and many mini-fam vacations when fesible financially. during those down moments, we will be working on our old house. The wiring in the house is shot so we have to be very careful what we do. meanwhile we are still clearing out "junk" aka not our stuff out of the house and trying to change to decor and paint too... please pray for us to get it down will minimal "ugliness" and within our budget needs. As usually we are busy but never to busy to remember all those that are our friends and family. May you all be richly blessed this summer, stay cool and not sunburned, and have a great time together... until later times, God Bless you....

running the race in place?!

Well, it has been a bit since I have posted... but there has been some "stuff" that warrants updating and input. Since my last post, my mother has been back under the knife to remove infection packets along the bones. Since that surgery, a large bruise has started to develop around her knee. After yet another two visits and more tests, it has been revealed that the the femur is dying. The second x-ray is missing bone that was showing in last weeks x-ray therefore bone is dying and flaking off. After yesterdays long drive, they determined that it will be hip replacement. Why the hip was not replaced in the first place... only the doctor knows the truth to the action. We can only assume that it was for glory of the fix since none have been able to make it work before. Before that could be definite, they had to check for infections again, and do a CAT scan. Checking for infection: they stick a large and long needle into the hip area to volume out any fluid that may be present in the area which would indicate infection. Her exact words, "It hurt really bad" She said she told them that and they replied "Really... it shouldn't!" Since that test came back good, all we are waiting on now is the results from the CAT scan. From the date of the doctors approval to proceed she will be off her inflammation meds at least for a week before they can do surgery. Pain tolerance/management is going to be rough! On top of that, there seems to be a problem with her knee as well. Needless to say, the hips is more of a pain then the knee at this point. What a mess????!!!!
She is so ready for the surgery, and yet the testing and travel is draining her spirit to fight. I can't imagine what is would be like to have two different times when you are just starting to make progress, and something come up that knocks you back down from the beginning again.

As for as the rest of the family... we are starting to slow for the school year but continue to move ahead with life. My hubby is almost done with the sports for a bit, and my oldest is ready for summer. Mean while, I am still in my current rock and hard place just waiting for God's reveal. (Job issue). I have adjusted my travel to more on the road, and spending more time with my family. It seems to have really helped my sleeping and emotions. However, I have also taken on an additional program at church to offset the lost of one of our members but this will only last through May. Come June, I have my plate full with getting ready for VBS as the music leader and member of the decorating crew. Throw in a few birthdays, reunions, holidays, and home renovations, and you have one busy family. From time to time, we have a chance to show down on the weekends and just enjoy each other. Life gets too busy not to stop and do this. The world tends to pull you apart when you are not able to pull back from time to time.

Hopefully I will be writing of my mom's progress in the future! Life can be overwhelming but with the Lord you can step back and take a deep breath to enjoy his Glory. 'Til next time... God Bless.

Home again Home again Jiggety Jog and Rest 234...

To pick up off my last post:
Mom is home. She has her very own outdoor shower/potty and easy ramps to get around. Her days have been a bit overwhelming. She is having to adjusted the way she sits, and gets up from different locations. It is harder to move here at home then it was at the hospital. Yesterday while she showered, all the grandkids played outside on the new ramps. Grandfather was the starter of course. It would have drove me nuts but it was a blessing for her to be able to bath and hear all the fun. The house is constantly moving right now. My nephews are there with my sister. The are very active 4 and 3 yr olds. They do love being at the ranch. Meanwhile my sister is quite tired all the time with the kids(including a newborn nursing) and attending to my mom's needs. I so wish that I could help out more but life is was it is. I go over on the evenings and tend to the littlest one and help out in small ways. I have been able to assist with getting paperwork processed for my parents regarding the accident. It is just so very hard when I work and have little one's that are to two different places (towns). My youngest is with me part of the week but my eldest is always with her daddy since she is in school and my spouse teachs. I am sure that she misses her grammy. I know this is hard on her.
Meanwhile......
My inlaws are slowly slowly still moving stuff out of the house. Right now the attention is on the bedroom for them. A few things have been taken here and there but no near as much as I was hoping. I know that patience is very very important regarding this matter. I want to bring in a huge dump truck and just start filling it up but I have to wait it out until they get all their share of the house goods. We have so many plans for each part that at times it gets overwhelming. On the other end of the spectrum, my spouse is in full sports mood with school. He is out usually the last part of the week and sometimes on the saturday. It keeps him hopping and very tired. I myself am a bear to deal with when I don't get my full nights and I can't imagine how he has got to be handling it.
With my adapted weekly schedule I get to see them more often at home. It has really helped me emotionally. Physically, well, I have not worked out in two weeks and I am about to go nuts. I usually workout everyday of the week at home but in the last two weeks, sleep or family has been more important to tend too. I do miss it and my body is craving it...
I still have not heard anything about a transfer to get closer to my family but I know not the plans for my life that are in store so I will take it "one day at a time, sweet Jesus, that's all that I'm askin from you".
There are so so many God moments from this entire last two weeks that I could not tell them all with out emotional interference so... just know that any prayers being lifted for my family has made an amazing and fulfilling effect. We know that if it was not for your prayers and angels, the whole thing would have been a lot harder and who knows what the outcome could have been. Please continue this act of worship to the Lord for trying times are not over and many more to come... with your prayers and kindness the world tends to be a better and brighter place. The future is bright but is a steep climb.

Until next time...

Coming down the home stetch....

She will be coming home very soon. Her therapy is going really well and there is no sign of infection, just healing. She has been a bit of pain this week but we think it might be from her bones growing. With little ones at home, the same pain is found when they have growth spurts therefore we think that this might be the cause of her pain as well. She is ready to go home and get on with life. Since she can not put weight on her leg, she is learning how to perform daily tasks with the assistance of a walker and a wheelchair. Of course, she still has staples and has been to very careful with them—they are very sensitive. Yesterday was a blue day for her but she had plenty of love around her with all her grands (-children) in the room. It was utter chaos to keep the arguments to a low roar but I think it felt like home to her. We should have a better idea of when and how this week regarding her release and requirements for her injury/therapy. She is moving very well. She gets up and down out of the bed/chair as if she was using both legs. What an inspiration she is to all that she has touched through this event in her life! Thank you to so many for all your well wishes, gifts, and especially your prayers. It is actually those prayers that have kept this situation bearable and helped all see a silver lining to a brighter future. My sister is still in town to attend to my mom along with her babies, my father is working on get their home handicap friendly, and folks (including them) are burnin’ the road up between here and there. Please continue to pray for us all. Like all these types of events, the demands of life begin to call and can overwhelm strong souls.
Thanks for your time and as soon as we have any more updated, I will post...

TOOK A BREAK, WENT UNDER THE KNIFE, AND BACK OUT

Well, folks... It looks like we are making some headway. My mom's second surgery went better than expected and was an easy in and out of the dr. Yesterday, an eval team came in and moved her to the rehab center in the hospital. Not only is this meaning that she is progressing but this also means that she has a private room, all her grandchildren can see her all at the same time and everyone else too during the visiting hours. Just yesterday, she was holding her newest grandson in her arms for the first time since the accident. If that is not therapy, than what is.....
My parents can attest that the reason she is healing and moving along well is because of the prayers from the saints (THANK YOU). That would be everyone that has and continues to pray for her. We know that God sent his angels into the accident not to prevent it but to be there to protect. I believe that all of those involved come out ok not because of luck or fortune but because of our Lord and Saviors hand. The drs believe that she will need to be in therapy for two weeks (up to her followup) but of course she would rather go home instead. I spoke to a very special friend yesterday and she informed me that it would be far better for her to stay there to make sure she does actually as she should... it doesn't take much to mess the whole hip up and have to replace it. She seems very greatful for her drs and prayers but of course is ready to go. That is where we are today. She is holding her own and learning how difficult it is to get around and do normal day to day activities. Please pray for her continued healing, a positive CAN DO attitude, and understanding. I will let all know when she comes home or any other updates. Thanks again for all your prayers and thoughts…

PLEASE PRAY!!!!

Friday evening I got a very shaky phone call from my dad.

"Honey, we've been in an accident. Momma's hurt pretty bad but Im ok.. We are going to be airlifed to a hospital because they fear she is hemorrhaging in her right leg."

Shock, fear, knowledgement, confusion, worry... but most of all... praise for they were alive. A young lady driving an SUV unattentively turned across 70 mile an hour traffic to access a country road. The first truck steered for the barditch to avoid contact while my dad had no where to go. They impatched them on the passenger side front and my parents on the whole front of the truck. Due to airbags in the suv, both the driver and passenger walked away. My dad wrapped the steering wheel around the steering column but sustained no injury. My mom on the other hands could not move. She was not penned in the vehicle, her lower body would not move. My parents were in a 90s truck with no airbags. If it were not for the seatbelts, I could have lost them both.

Damage results after many tests: broken right hip and socket (top of femur). First surgery was on her hip and lasted for 6 hours. The surgeon was not pleased with the result but did his best. Second surgery(in as I type this) will be to repair the socket and upper femur.

Many family members and friends have come by to see my mom as well as a huge out pour of prayers and aides offered. How some people make it through something like this with out the Lord or all our family/friends, is beyond me. Her attitude even coming our from under the knife was very positive and remains to holds its ground. Saturda night was a hard one from pain to fever to fitful sleep. Sunday when I left them, she was in no pain. During the day she had moved herself into a chair (once approved by staff nurse) and had later walked around her bed with the assistance of the PT and a walker. That one specific event has changed the gloominess to the possible for my dad and many others. Drs say this will be a long process and that she may still require a total hip replacement (not encourage due to her young age of 40 something) and even more surgeries.

My sister (with the help of aunts) has been there and still there through it all. She is a stay at home mom which allows her to stay as long as needed with my mom but she has a 2 month old boy who is breastfeeding with her. Hospitals and children issues are not absent from this matter. I know that it has to be hard for her as well as my nephew. He has been absolutely an amazing child through this all. Praise the Lord for close family who has been watching our babies while we went and attended to my parents.

Please lift this whole family, friends, patient, and situation. Thank you for your time and hope you will see the Lord in this all. He reigned forever!!!

Oh Baby!!!

Everywhere I look it seems some lady is expecting or just given birth. I am thankful to God for those blessings of new beginnings and doubly gratefully that I have my two with no plans for more. When I see a little one, I just want to pick them up and soak up that amazin miracle. They just amaze me... How we start out so small and dependent. Then they growup to carry on the cycle of life, too. I gladly give them back but I like my turn too.

I have yet to meet my newest member of my family but my longings will be satisfied before to long I am sure. Introducing my new nephew!!!

WHAT A CUTEY!!!!
After a much shorter than her prior kids but still and always painfull labor, my sis brought her 7lb 7oz 20" long baby boy into the world Friday, 22nd of January. My sis' bday was the 25th and she told me that the greatest gift was having him in her arms and not her belly. My youngest son happen to have fallen right before my big day as well. The simularity in our children and life are quit interesting. My oldest is so much like my sister (when she was a little girl)at times I swear God is punishing me for being so mean and for mistreating her all those years. Her newest addition favors his Aunt and Grammy.. Dark hair and dark eyes... My youngest and her middle seem to have the quarkiest attitudes. Mine is some what more agreesive but they both definitely have a personality of their own. They can be very funny. Both of our Hubbys are coaches and teach science at the same grade levels but are worlds apart.

I am so greatful for the blessings in my life-TRULY! Although I am still seperated from my family, and "running for the border" often then not, I have much to be thankful about. I have been working out as well and managed to keep at it for some time now. God has helped me lose about 6lbs or so and I can't wait to lose more. I gotten to were I greatly enjoy the time and when it's with my SISTAS, it is double my pleasure. The little childrens choir has been going nicely. I and them are beginning to understand each other. They are learning a great deal and we are having a great time doing it.

Well now on to the future thoughts and dates. Many events and things loom on the horizon of this year but I am doing my best to live life to the fullest each week. While I have been away from my family, I have altered my daily schedule to reflect the needs and responsiblities of our situation. Granted my spouse still carries on with the most important of all, our CHILDREN, but I too have my own. Support from our family and friends has kept us going and the Lord keeps us strong. Thank you to all those that continue to pray for us!!! The strength of prayers goes a long ways... I have learned this month of many that are going thru hard times, from Cancer to early/undeveloped pregnancies!!! These situation continue to remind me that there is always someone worst off then me and all we can do it pray for them and thank God for our blessings and fortune. Continue to encourage each other in life and bring a smile even in the hardest of times. Laughter can bring joy and God proved the moment... Have you thanked Him today?!?!
